Said to be the birthplace of hula, Moloka`i is Hawaii’s 5th largest island, yet seems to be an island that the world has left behind…or is it the other way around? A place where there are no buildings taller than a coconut tree, no traffic jams... no traffic lights. The 65,000 secluded acres of Molokai Ranch were formerly owned by King Kamehameha V, as well as corporate giants Dole & Del Monte pineapple companies. The property is unique and truly Hawaii's only eco-adventure resort with a vast array of activities from horseback riding, mountain biking, sport shooting, archery, ocean kayaking, explorations or just day-dreaming in your hammock...
Nestled amid swaying palms, The Beach Village fronts the double-crescent white sand Kaupoa Beach with forty (40) two-bedroom canvas tentalows on platform decks clustered throughout ancient sites which at one time was a Hawaiian fishing village . Complete with lounge chairs, deck seating, covered picnic table, open-air bathroom with sink, toilet and shower complete with full bath amenities, the Beach Village is truly an outdoor experience and a destination all its own.
Electrical energy is generated by the brightness of the sun rather than the heat from the sun. The Solar water heating system, however, makes hot water from the heat energy of the sun. The Solar power also provides eco-friendly lights in the evening, hot running water and ceiling fans with an environmentally friendly composting toilet, adding conveniences that even a true nature lover and outdoor adventurer will appreciate.
Tentalows and hammocks dot the green landscaped lawns, waves cascade on to the shore and unobstructed sunsets paint the sky while a blanket of stars glow overhead as well as the city of Honolulu in the distant view. The Beach Village offers a camp host or hostess desk that greets you upon arrival and can provide activity information, towels, chairs, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, and more for the perfect day at the beach. Croquet, horseshoes, beach volleyball, stargazing, campfires are available on the beachfront lawn. Meals are served in the open-air oceanfront Kaupoa Dining Pavilion featuring breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets with entrée’s cooked to order by on-staff chefs, such as omelettes, barbecued hamburgers or grilled fresh fish and steaks.
