Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
The locality of Punta Cana is actually only a small village with 3 hotels. But the entire holiday region of the island (50 km from Higuey), is designated in such a way. This consists of the places Cap Cana (Juanillo), Cabeza de Toro, El Cortecito, Bávaro, El Macao and Uvero Alto (from the south to the north). From the 2.9 million tourists that annually visit the Dominican Republic,42% come to Punta Cana
The International Airport of Punta Cana, where tourists arrive is in Bávaro. Here visitors are probably surprised at the failed building method of the buildings. The airport is approached however from ever more fliers from around theworld. At present alone weekly 100 flights come, with rising tendency from the USA. In this year also the radar facility of the airfield was upgraded to the technology completely on the newest conditions.
Punta Cana has a length of 45 km of some of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Karibik. Kokospalmen, which are enough to the sea, fine white sand beaches as far the eye can see, and the warm tuerkisblaue sea. Here one finds 40 large hotels (mostly all-inclusive), and it in foreseeable time still more will come. The roads in this region will improve.
The largest place with many hotels is Bávaro (Bavarian translates). There there are the shopping centers such as Plaza Bávaro, Plaza Punta Cana, Plaza Brisas, Plaza Riviera. Plaza Progresa and Plaza Caney. Into Bavaro is one new modern hospital, 4 banks, a large purchase market, many Souvenierlaeden, restaurant, discotheques, Bars, as well as 3 banks, doctors, pharmacies, a baker's shop, cleaning and much more besides. From here drive also regularly public penalty (Guagua or Express) to Higuey or Santo Domingo.
Macao offers a beautiful beach with an adjacent rock hill direct at the sea. From there one has a wonderful prospect over the sea and to a ship wreck, which is used from the local dive schools to diving courses. The sea has beautiful, high waves, which invite swimming and wave riding. The people in Macao are pleased about each attendance.
In El Cotecito, small fishing village, one finds many small business, a supermarket, several restaurants, private hotels and apartments. At the beach one finds still many Buden and conditions direct, where the native tourists sell souveniers. The most well-known restaurant in Cortecito is "Capitan Cook", where over a wood grill crayfish and the most diverse fish blow completely are prepared. Here many celebrities have visited (e.g. Bill Clinton)
In Cabeza de Toro are 3 large allinclusive hotels. Here is also a Nautic club from Santo Domingo, as well as the base of the Marina, which are responsible for the beach sections in Punta Cana. There are also good fish restaurants, bars, discotheques and a apartmenthouses with own landing stage.
If one drives from the airport, in southern direction along the coast, one lands sometime in the fisher place Juanillo, which has to exhibit an edge of picture booking. A paradies for children. There these flat turquoise sea basin, as an enormous bath tub works. At sunning and holidays here many native families with loud music and much Presidente or rum picknicken.
On the Easter long weekend, thousands of dominicans visit this beach to join in the largest fiesta on the east coast.
The coast region is called Cap Cana and now develops on a length of over 4 kilometers for the largest hotel and leisure complex of the Dominican republic there. The plant, which gets also its own yachting port, is to become still more luxurious than the holiday area "Casa de Campo" in La Romana
